In the opening message, Mr. Nisheeth Mehta shared that the purpose behind such events is not to merely invite artists and enjoy various art forms but it is because any form of art brings a sense of excitement and novelty. It nourishes the mind and soul, and hence he extended a heartfelt welcome to all present. The artists were honored with a shawl and garland, each by Mrs. Pritiben Mehta, Mr. Pathik Mehta, Mr. Madhukarbhai Upadhyay, Mr. Chintan Bhai Pandya, and Mrs. Vaishali Mehta. 

National Director of Empretec India Foundation graced the occasion all the way from Kolkata. Kalaguru Lt. Dharmishbhai Shah’s wife was also present for the event, along with Queen of the Royal family – Samyukta Devi Kumari. Amongst the other dignitaries present were – Ex Home Minister Mahendrabhai Trivedi, the chairman of the Alang Development Authority Girishbhai Shah, Mr. Premchand Jha, and Mr. Rajesh Vaishnav. 

It is rather convenient and easy for us to get caught up in the daily grind and forget the art and practice that drives and nourishes our soul. But that is not the case with Dr. Jayanti Ravi and her family. No wonder the creative souls of the Ravi family manage to keep their rhythm alive in various ways. Dr. Jayanti Ravi’s family is a highly intellectual family. They have all achieved hugely in various intellectual fields as well. Dr. Jayanti Ravi herself is the final authority commissioner in the health department; she is known to be of great stature. Her daughter Ms. Krupa Ravi, while being the ace Bharatnatyam dancer she is, has also achieved a lot in the area of management studies and currently works with Google. His son Mr. Adit Ravi is an alumnus of IIT Chennai and has attained great heights in an American firm. It is not only about financial heights here or about gaining popularity and fame; we have so many of those in our country in various fields. What makes them stand apart to most others is their passion and the sincerity with which they pursue and practice their art. Furthermore, the mark of being remarkable is in the ability to remain humble despite achieving name, fame, and money. They display for us, a sustainable lifestyle and a means to nourish the mind and the soul through our rich cultural heritage and equally rich value system. We are always exposed to immediate achievements and fame and monetary growth but we are not too aware of the other pursuits in such families. Here, Dr. Ravi’s family has shown to us how they have pursued and fine-tuned into beautiful art forms and sustained their cultural and value-based heritage. Only if nurtured right from the start, this can sustain into life much later as well. Let’s hope more people in Bhavnagar and otherwise can also find their calling and nurture their values and right from a young age so to promote and live sustainable lifestyles and intellectually fulfilling ones – and can also promote that for the others – this family has demonstrated the same to us. They are the torchbearers for a society otherwise facing a crisis of culture and values.

In the Agenda for Sustainable Development for 2030, the United Nations has shared 17 goals. These are called the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Of this, MicroSign currently fulfills 5 goals, which was appreciated by all. The United Nations shared laws and guidelines regarding the differently-abled population in 1992. This was the start of conversations around the less-talked-about population amongst us. Later, India also passed laws to the effect of employment guidelines for the lesser privileged population. However, MicroSign had laid the foundations for this healthy philosophy earlier. This is ingrained in our philosophy, actions, and practice since 1987.

As of today, more than 50% of the employees, that is the HR workforce, is differently abled at MicroSign. Our focus has always been on looking for the ability that lies hidden beneath the obvious mask of disability. So while we focus on sustainable growth and development, we want to do so with continued social responsibility. Social justice comes with a constant awareness of social concerns and actively seeking solutions that will turn into a sustainable practice. A win-win situation for all involved will help in the longer run. At MicroSign, hence, the differently abled is not seen as unsuccessful, but the best we have.

Over time, MicroSign has created a model for industries about how to engage and employ their employees in a way that will help maximize potential for all; and how to put them to the best possible use. Considering all these aspects of our work culture, as displayed through the case study, Mr. Ramzan was awarded the outstanding best paper award.

This evening was a culmination of a fruitful and one and first of its kind of collaboration between MicroSign and the ICCR. The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is an autonomous organization of the Government of India under the administrative control of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). ICCR’s regional office for Gujarat was established in the year 2012. The ICCR brought the talented duo to the city of Bhavnagar. 

For us at Microsign Products, this collaboration with the ICCR, Gujarat was a matter of the win-win situation. The Culture for Excellence at Microsign Products is always keen on encouraging and showcasing talent, while the ICCR helped us take this objective forward. 

The entire Universe is full of rhythm around us. Our innermost language is that of dance and movement. The myriad forms of dances in India allow us to experience and express deep happiness. On this note, we had the immense pleasure of hosting Shri Bharat Baraiya and Shri Akshay Patel at the ‘Nrutyaparv’ in Bhavnagar. They are well versed with folk dance forms as well as classical dance forms from all of India. They boast of National and International fame for the talent they present the world with. They have not only stunned audiences across the globe but have also conducted workshops and seminar to spread the knowledge further. If compiled at some point, their performances would easily amount to video recordings well above two thousand CDs. 

Shri Bharat Baraiya hails Halol, a small village in Gujarat. He was trained by field stalwarts at the Darpan Academy in Ahmedabad. Having learned and grown under the tutelage of great Gurus, he was dedicated to being a professional dancer and broke boundaries for the same. He explored more forms of art as well – martial arts, folk, and tribal dances and Bhavai – the folk theatre form prevalent from Gujarat. He even began his own training institute in 2008, called ‘Nrityavali’. Right from the year 1986, he has several awards to his credit, along with a professional with notable names from Hollywood as well. 

Shri Akshay Patel was also trained at the Darpan Academy, having lived in the vicinity and having been inspired by the talent around. His long stint at Darpan took from the intense training for Bharat Natyam to exploring various forms of contemporary dance, Kalaripayattu, theatre, lighting, and the other allied fields. He has traveled far and wide, both within India as well as globally for group performances of classical and folk dance forms. He was the co-founder at Nrityavali along with Shri Bharatbhai. He also brings along a long list of awards and accolades to his name, along with having professionally been associated with talented artists from India as well as Hollywood. 

The night of 13^th January witnessed a very different experience at the Yeshwantrai auditorium. The people of Bhavnagar watched in rapt attention as the two talent houses presented refined and fusion forms of art, using classical and folk dance forms as their roots. Being experts in all these areas, they left us with a rich experience of art at its finest. Bhavnagar has always warmly hosted artists across multiple forms of art. The people here are already aware and receptive to such events and hence they happily turn up on nights such as these. We feel happy to see what we do not have to push people for events like these. It is an organic process, and everyone is happy about what they see and experience. The artists were able to connect with the audience, leading them to be involved to the extent of shaking a leg themselves.

Mr. Nisheeth was invited for this event to be felicitated and recognized for the innovative HR practices MicroSign has always been known for. The theme for this year’s summit was “Indian Auto Component Industry: Transforming to Stay Competitive”. They hosted over 1200 delegates from various backgrounds of the industry. The ACMA graciously extended an invite for MicroSign’s efforts to be told to everyone present there. 

Mr. Pathik and Mr. Nisheeth respected the wishes and the invite sent and were present for the event held in Pune.  

The purpose of this award was to recognize and laud the impact of the innovative HR practices that MicroSign has introduced and sustained over the years. Differently-abled people have actively been involved in mainstream, inclusive practices. This has contributed to a win-win for both sides. People with different abilities have found a space to be themselves and bring in their talent and skills as a contribution. The company has grown because of the same. These people have been proven to be a great asset for their industry, entirely on the basis of their merit and credential. The company, on the other hand, has become more sustainable. MicroSign has begun with this experiment a good 33 years ago and has only grown in their inclusive approach ever since. It was this philosophy that was recognized and awarded. 

Present at the event were a few notable names : Anant Geete – Honourable Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprise, Govt. of India, Mr. FR Singhvi, Chairman of ACMA and President of skills and monitoring, Ram Venkataramani – President and MD at ACMA, and Tom Flack – President and Chief Procurement Officer for Tata Motors. All the delegates present there, from different backgrounds, were briefed rather well about the inclusive and innovative approach MicroSign is known for. They emphasized on how we can integrate those who otherwise remain alone or isolated. And not only integrate, but also make a scope for them to grow towards good positions and make active contributions to revenue generation in a company. We, at MicroSign, were heartened to see ACMA publicizing these facets very well to everyone present there. It is a good platform for more people to know what philosophy drives us and how our attitude and approach makes a difference for everyone around, including our company itself. The regular population has gradually started seeing the differently-abled people in a different perspective, as contributing members of the society.

We, at Microsign, were proud and humbled to present two young and rising stars to our audience – Anjali and Nandini Gaikwad. They command a lot of respect and recognition at this tender age, in the field of light and classical vocal singing. The two sisters are no less than unique shining stars on a cold, dark night; child prodigies about to dazzle the world further. Anjali and Nandini have won accolades across various State and National level competitions. Their biggest source of recognition comes from having won on the reality television show – Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – Little Champs, aired on Zee TV. They have since been known as the little stars and wonders.
The two young girls have been recognized for their talent by Mr. A.R.Rahman himself and he has provided further opportunities as well. At this young age, both sisters have a portfolio flowing over with nation-wide recognition, and multiple achievements and awards. They have been gracing stage platforms across the nation since, and we, at Microsign, have been very happy to have been able to host them in our beautiful town of Bhavnagar.

  The purpose that fuelled an event like this is to recognize the talent these young girls present with, and showcase to the people of Bhavnagar what these sisters are capable of at such a tender age. The end in mind is to present the parents and teachers in Bhavnagar with an experience that will further inspire to push their own wards and students in various directions of interest and talent. Often times, we hesitate in pushing our kids forward on the less-trodden paths because of the uncertainties involved as well as because we are used to thinking of careers and life decisions in a limited way. However, the younger generations have a lot of avenues open to them, waiting to be converted to successful career opportunities. Showcasing such young talent would hopefully take that message out to the parents in Bhavnagar, telling them that it could also be their kids one day up on a stage like this, or being recognized for their potentials. If there is a will, there is always a way. We need such experiences to inspire us and give us more courage. We want to encourage the kids now so that they may strive for national-level achievements later on themselves.

Our intentions were not limited by and to entertainment, but also looked at wanting to encourage value building, contribute to cultural values, and help the society at large grow into a happier place where we value the impact of various art forms in our lives. MicroSign continues to strive for making Bhavnagar a better place, providing people with opportunities to become proactive citizens of the country.
It was a beautiful night for all the music lovers, to be blessed with some soul-nourishing music and singing. The year 2018 came to a soulful and melodious end for all of.

The festival of lights, Diwali, has a significant presence in the Indian calendar. Everyone across the country celebrates
the same with great fervor and enthusiasm. We, at Microsign Products, were keen on celebrating this in a
manner different from what we are generally used to. You have always read about the company is different in
the way that it aims to employ and involve the differently-abled class of our society. On the same lines, we also
wished to have a different way of celebrating the festival of lights this year.

On 1.0’November, the company organized a picnic tour to the Green Leaf Water Park in Rajkot. In the company of
Mehta family (Mr. Nisheeth Mehta, Mrs. Priti Mehta, and Mr. Pathik Mehta), the whole team spent a day at the
water park in Rajkot. This was much appreciated by all, and we had a lot of fun together. Several team building
activities were planned to engage everyone. Everyone laughed together and made some great memories as well.

December 3 marks the International Day of Persons with Disability. On this occasion, we are proud to share a
message from the founder of MicroSign —Mr. Nisheeth Mehta.

Mr. Nisheeth strongly believes in — “the disabled are the most uniquely abled people in the world”. He has a strong piece
of advice for the differently abled people — “concentrate on those things that your disability does not prevent
you from doing. Do not regret and weep over things that your disability interferes with. Being disabled
physically is one thing, but you DO NOT have to be disabled in your spirit towards life,
Disability, to a great extent, is a matter of perception. As long as you can manage to do one thing, and do it well,
you will be needed by someone or the other for your ability. Your ability can be put to use.
Upon hearing the word ‘disabled’, people think of those who cannot walk, or cannot talk, or maybe even those who
cannot do things that most of us take for granted. Mr. Nisheeth is proud to be one of those few people who take
nothing in life for granted. However, he does believe that real disability lies in those people who are unable to enjoy
life as it is, are bitter, and always find something to complain about.
Mr. Nisheeth’s perception of disability is rather different and unique too. He believes that disability is a kind of an extreme
measure, where we are pitted against a very difficult situation for us to deal with. Such situations often throw
an interesting light on people. They either shine or fade away into darkness. I hope and pray people to choose to
shine despite their disabilities, by focusing on what they can actively do.
Here’s a message from Mr. Nisheeth himself:

“I want to tell all my differently-abled friends to think in the following way — I am officially disabled, but essentially
I am uniquely abled because of the lack of soy limbs or anything else. The unique challenges I have
faced have opened up unique opportunities for me to reach out to so many in need. I urge everyone to say to
themselves that “today I choose life”. Every morning when we wake up, we can choose between joy, happiness,
negativity, and pain. We can choose to experience the kind of day that we want, we are not slaves to our
conditions and our limitations. I want everyone to realize the experience the freedom that comes from being able
to choose your experiences every day. We have the freedom to make mistakes and learn from them or make
mistakes and feel sorry forever. Choose wisely; use the freedom you have. Remind yourself to choose life over
everything else; embrace the humanity in all of us instead of denying it. If you simply believe that you can, then
you have progressed halfway already. If you only keep facing the sunshine of life at all times, the dark shadows will
keep falling behind you. I pray for everyone to have the strength and understanding to realize the ability of the
disabled.

Company CEO Mr. Nisheeth Mehta shared his true success and experience with the audience at the event.

The experiment was initiated back in 1987 is now useful to the new msme, small scale industry, and mixed scale industry too. How this become possible? Why companies should recruit differently abled people?

There are multiple reasons and benefits of hiring differently abled people. Mr. Nisheeth Mehta explains the why’s-

Differently abled people don’t have a jumping attitude for changing the job – These people want to work but they are not privileged with any support in the competitive market. Microsign understands that just like general people, these people need love and acceptance and thus, the company is providing them job in order to bring them a settled life.

Differently abled people are sincerer – Unlike general people, differently abled ones are more serious about getting work done. They complete their task and reach the goals before time.

Differently abled people are focused – They spend less time on training as they work with concentration. They are the good listeners.

People with different abilities are giving healthy competition to general category and motivate them towards attaining goals with outstanding concentric and focused approach.

Microsign Products find them as assets and not the liability. Thus, it is necessary to give them accessibility and opportunity to enhance productivity of the company. A company can simply become good to great with these people.

Impact of exercise and diet on regular life

It is important to do exercise regularly without compromising with the diet. While people are occupied in their jobs and work, they find no time for exercise and this has turned out a bigger issue of their health.

In the event, the significance of yoga and naturopathy was shared by experts. They told that having a proper diet will not only help in mind management but also bring a healthy life altogether. People don’t have to take unnecessary medicines if they do the physical exercise regularly and keep their diet healthy.

Recently, Saksham organized the Seminar, in which it called a few companies that are working with different NGOs. On 29th September, 2018 Microsign Products company’s CEO Mr. Nisheeth Mehta attended the event as a speaker and panelist and explained the idea of setting up his company at Divyang and employment event, in Jaipur.

In the panel discussion, project Divyang and employment was discussed by different companies working with disabled ones. Nisheeth Mehta shared his 30 years of incredible work experience with other panelists during the seminar.

In his speech, he told how he made a game-changer decision by introducing physically and mentally challenged work-force in 1988. It was definitely a confidence boosting event for the companies that have disabled workforce. They even got to know about different opportunities to make these people grow in the working environment.

Recently, Bhavnagar Jilla Table Tennis Association and Micro sign partnered for an event. As Slated on 19 th September to 22nd September, the event was held at SAG Table Tennis Hall (3 rd floor), Sidsar, in Bhavnagar. And, approx. 400 participants including children and adults Participated from across Gujarat. Micro sign supported the association with manpower and Finance for the event.

The event was filled with motivated spirit of sportsmanship. The entire stadium was filled with the inspiring quotes, some of them are –

“Success is where preparation and opportunity meet.”

“Sports teaches you character. It teaches you to play by the rules. It teaches you to know What it feels like to win and lose. It teaches you about life.”

“Gold medals aren’t really made of gold. They’re made of sweat, determination, a hard-to-find alloy called guts.”

Recently, it was found that the density of trees in Gujarat is lesser than the requirement. This event was the small step to help enhance the tree density in city and Microsign Products is grateful to have such employees that think generously about the environment.

This 15 August 2018 was special for every employee working in Microsign Products. The entire team of 80 people was invited by the management to see the enlightening movie ‘Back Bencher’. Each employee was allowed to bring one family member along to the Entertainment Park movie theater.

The show of Back Bencher was started at 8 AM. The mere motive behind this event was to make employees understand about the significance of Child Raising along with schooling. This independence day, Microsign gifted ‘liberty’ to live a luxurious time to its employees. Every employee working in the company was overwhelmed with the arrangement done by the management.
